Dreams of Chonta follows the experiences of an Afro-Colombian musician, Diego, who emigrated to the United States in pursuit of success in the music industry. The film is driven by Diego’s musical talent, filled with the marimba of Chonta, rarely heard outside of his region of Colombia. We follow Diego in New York and his family on the other side of the continent, giving a unique and intimate view of the immigrant experience through extreme contrasts on a journey of a man determined to change his life against all odds.

Light refreshments will be provided.
