On Friday Oct 30th from 12:30-1:30pm, we are excited to bring back the HNAC Cafe series. This session is “HNAC Cafe: Women and Activism in North Carolina,” with Mandy Carter, Virginia Adamson, Dot Kearns, and Glenn Perkins.
Enjoy virtual coffee, cookies (at home!) and stimulating conversation with UNCG’s Humanities Network & Consortium.
This month’s theme, Women and Activism in North Carolina, brings a powerful panel together just in advance of Election Day and commemorates the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. Mandy Carter (co-founder of SONG and National Black Justice Coalition) and Virginia Adamson (American Association of University Women NC, ERA-NC Alliance) will be joined by Dot Kearns, alumna of Women’s College (Class of ’53!) and voted 2017 Democratic Woman of NC. The discussion will be moderated by Glenn Perkins, curator of community history at the Greensboro History Museum. All are welcome. The event is sponsored by the UNCG Humanities Network and Consortium (HNAC).
