Dr. Lowin is Professor of Islamic and Jewish Studies in the Religious Studies Department at Stonehill College, where she also directs the Middle East Studies minor. Her research focuses on the interplay between early and classical Islamic exegetical narratives, most notably qiṣaṣ al-anbiyā’ (Stories of the Prophets) and the rabbinic midrash aggadah materials. Her most recent book, Arabic and Hebrew Love Poems in al-Andalus (London: Routledge, 2014), follows these materials into the Arabic and Hebrew eros poems of Muslim Spain. Lowin is also the editor of the Review of Qur’anic Research. Co-sponsored by Jewish Studies and Religious Studies.
